This energy crisis was exacerbated by the devastating effects of a hurricane that struck the eastern part of the island, causing flooding, loss of life and property, and generating strong public criticism of the government&#039;s response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The economic crisis continued to worsen, with shortages of food, fuel, and drinking water, accompanied by a deterioration in basic services and a rise in crime. Meanwhile, the government prioritized its own interests over the urgent needs of the affected population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Cubalex monitoring team recorded at least 75 protests throughout the month, reflecting growing social discontent. It also documented 290 repressive acts, including 618 incidents of harassment, concentrated mainly in Havana, Villa Clara, and Camag\u00fcey.
