This Cubalex report analyzes how documented interrogations in Cuba are part of a surveillance and control model targeting activists, independent journalists, and human rights defenders. Between 2022 and 2024, 493 cases were recorded, demonstrating a systematic violation of international guarantees such as the Convention against Torture.
The report details practices of psychological and physical torture, such as coercion into self-incrimination, threats against family members, and racist and sexist humiliation. It also highlights the disproportionate impact on vulnerable groups and offers recommendations for strengthening the defense of human rights in this repressive context.
